16th Annual Central Texas Poetry and Prose Festival with Special Host: Thom the World Poet |

Where: Tablerock Amphitheater
Fee: Admission is by purchase of the 2023 Anthology ($10), Children under 12 -FREE!
Featuring the launch of the 2023 ANIMAL TALES ANTHOLOGY, with Texas National and International Poets represented.
There will be LIVE readings of those published in the 2022 Anthology
and back copies of the 2022 Anthology are available for $10.
A feature performance by Sandi Horton will give the audience a special gift of music and poetry, as she will read her animal poetry and play native flute songs.
You will also get to hear poets from Salado, including our Poet Laureate.
Poets from Georgetown, Temple, Austin and all points Texas will share their original works.
This is an ALL-AGES event!
Performing poets may have their books for sale and signing. Some poets will have musical accompaniment, notably Indian flutes, and keyboards.
The event is hosted by Thom Woodruff, Beat Poet Laureate of Texas.
His positive ties to the Salado community include convening poetry workshops, school performances at Salado High School, and playing Edgar Allen Poe for Fright Trail.
This is a unique opportunity for all Salado citizens to hear their poets in their own venue.
Poets will be happy to autograph Anthologies (for free!)-and to share their experiences with aspiring poets of all ages.
This event will not be broadcasted, streamed nor videoed. This is a unique LIVE presentation.
Tickets are available at the door on the night-bring your family for this poetic treat which has "ANIMALS" as the theme. At various times, ANIMAL TALES ANTHOLOGY helped spay feral Salado cats .Also assist the repair of your SIRENA sculpture.
Poets you will hear also convene Poetry Readings in Temple, Georgetown, Waco and Austin.
This is your best opportunity for a TASTE TEST of their different poetic styles.

Shakespeare's Macbeth |

Professor Kelly Parker, Director of Theater at McLennan Community College, and his talented students are coming once again to perform a magnificent Shakespeare play. This year's play is "Macbeth." MCC students are always a delight to watch and admire! Great shows every time! Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 years old and younger. Salado Legends Rehearsal! Cast, crew and techs of over 100 men, women and children rehearse by scene, per rehearsal schedule at Tablerock Amphitheater. Rehearsals run 7:00 PM until 9:30 PM weekdays.

The 31st Annual Performances of Salado Legends is Central Texas' favorite outdoor musical drama!
* Show: 8:15 PM, adult $25.00, student (High School or college with student ID) $10.00, child $5.00 (12 or under).
* Tickets: Salado Legends tickets may be purchased online at CentralTexasTickets.com or 24 hours before the show at various shops in Salado or at Horizon Bank. Show tickets only for purchase at the gate on performance night.

Fright Trail and A Christmas Carol Auditions |

Come on out and AUDITION FOR Fright Trail and A Christmas Carol. 2-5 PM at Tablerock Amphitheater.
Fright Trail requires 80 of various ages and performers are on the Fright Trail on Oct 19th & 26th.
A Christmas Carol requires 70 actors and performs for four nights in December during the popularly attended "Salado Christmas Stroll"!

What an enchanting way to experience the Classics! Fright Trail Tablerock's one-half mile walking trail presents thrills and chills. Authors' bios and skits from classic tales from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Tickets are $10.00 adults & students, and $5.00 for children 12 and under. For more information, call Tablerock (254) 421-3903. A Christmas Carol adapted for the stage by Harry Sweet. Dickens's Yuletide play will guide you into the right spirit for our Lord's birthday. Show at 7:00 PM.
